We use a highly experienced crew of dedicated washing specialists who are experts in their craft. The pressure washing or soft washing of all painted exterior surfaces is always included in our exterior quotes and we are happy to offer a separate quote for any moss removal, surface cleaning of unpainted surfaces, gutter cleaning, and window washing.

Our clients are always impressed with the thorough prep work that goes into every interior and exterior paint job performed by Refined Painting Services. We repair any damage, caulk, sand and prime to achieve a uniform finish across all painted surfaces. On exterior jobs we hire skilled exterior cleaning technicians to thoroughly wash designated painted surfaces using expert washing techniques and equipment, in order to remove dust, dirt, mold, and mildew.

We require the homeowners to provide adequate clearance of all landscaping. Generally 2’-3’ of clearance is required for first story work and usually more for upper story areas. Landscaping obstructions are noted and addressed together during our initial walkthrough and reassessed during our pressure washing process (typically 1-2 weeks prior to project prep).

Exteriors jobs are typically scheduled during the drier months of May-October to avoid excessive moisture which might affect the integrity of the paint. We prepare for incidental rains as much as possible and can continue work in light rain under covered areas as well as continue certain stages of prep. With this advanced preparation, schedules are rarely revised due to rain or inclement weather.

We recommended exterior jobs be scheduled during the drier months of May-October. In time-sensitive situations, we can work with you to schedule exterior jobs outside of the preferred season. In such cases we will prioritize crew and structure safety and ensure manufacturer environmental specifications for products are followed (no freezing temperatures overnight, dry window of consecutive days, etc.)

We provide referrals to color consultants to assist with this service. For clients who prefer an in-person consultation, a site visit with a color specialist of up to 90-minutes can be scheduled. This includes a small additional fee.

We are completely comfortable working around families and pets. We use safe, low-to-zero VOC and low odor products, plus utilize techniques to quickly eliminate odors. We are extremely tidy, cleaning and putting together rooms as work is finished. Our intent is to cause as little intrusion as possible during work. However, homeowner presence is not required. Our entire crew is composed of vetted, high-character Painters who work with integrity and care. The majority of our projects take place in occupied homes while families are absent through part or the entirety of the project. Some clients have chosen to schedule a vacation during projects and come home to a freshly painted house.

Many factors are taken into account when projecting the timeline of projects, including square footage, condition of surfaces to be painted, repairs required, etc. Below are some standard timelines. You will receive a quote specific to your project after a scheduled walkthrough.

Interior: One standard room(walls, ceilings) is typically finished in one to two days. Additional days may be needed to add the painting of trim and/or doors.

Cabinets: A typical set of kitchen cabinets take about 1 week to prep and paint. In some cases, part of a 2nd week may be needed.

Exterior: Exterior project timelines can vary widely based on the condition of the previous paint and how much preparation and repairs are required. Our average exterior project takes about 2 weeks to complete, but smaller & newer homes can sometimes be completed in 1 week.

Our Painters are experts in all paint applications and utilize the appropriate technique for each part of the job.

In most cases, our painters will only need outer edge access and can fully mask off the inner shelves which prevents the need to fully empty cabinets and drawers. Many clients choose to remove only what they will need access to for the duration of the project. Drawers only need to be emptied if access to the drawer front screws is impeded.
